Perseus Web Atlas Update

The Perseus Project is pleased to announce an update to the Perseus Atlas. The Atlas interface has been rewritten, new searching features have been added, and new data has been incorporated for world-wide coverage. New data includes a relief map of the world and hundreds of thousands of new placenames. Users can choose which geographic features to display, plot sites, and zoom in to see greater detail.

The new Atlas is integrated with the Perseus Lookup Tool and with the texts of the Perseus Digital Library. When sites are plotted on the map, the Atlas supplies links to the Lookup Tool for further information about the sites. Every text in English that refers to places in the Atlas database now features links to the Atlas, showing all the sites named in the current page or in the entire text.
