Papyrological Resources in Perseus

PLEASE NOTE: As of 2008, the DDBDP-specific searching tools are not reliable and will not be restored or repaired. They are offered as-is. The DDBDP collection is accessible in Perseus 4, linked above, but there are no collection-specific tools. The DDBDP is working on improvements to the collection. We will post new information as it becomes available. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The Perseus Project is pleased to host the WWW version of the Duke Data Bank of Documentary Papyri (DDBDP), an electronic edition of nearly 500 papyrus volumes. For more information about the publications in the DDBDP, see the Checklist of Editions of Greek and Latin Papyri, Ostraca and Tablets.

Perseus provides four basic tools for accessing these papyri:

Note that due to the limitations of most Web browsers, displaying polytonic Greek on the Web is not intuitive. For information on how to configure your browser and what fonts to use, see the Perseus text help page. If you are unable to get Greek on your browser, you may still see the Greek transliterated into Roman characters or Beta code.
