Condition:

Some misfiring, particularly on Side B; partial erosion of shield device on Side A.

Decoration Description:

Side A: Athena Promachos striding to left with shield and upraised spear. The shield device is a white tripod. She wears a peplos with red panels, scale pattern on lower skirt, and a panel of white rosettes. Her stippled aegis is framed with snakes. Her long hair falls in a pointed tress. Her helmet has a stilted crest. There are red curls on her brow.

Side B: horse race. Two young horsemen are galloping to the right. The forelegs of the horses are in the air. The winner holds his goad up high. The loser holds his low. Both horses have red manes. Both riders wear red tunics.

On neck is a lotus and palmette quatrefoil. A red fillet appears between the neck and the body. Above each scene is a band of red and black tongues. Double red stripes circle the lower body above the zone of rays on the lower body. There are red stripes also on the foot, lip, and the inside of the mouth.
