... with a cargo of salt. She was chased ashore by Yankee steamers. Her crew will be saved though the vessel and cargo will probably be lost. It has been ascertained that the Yankee force near Jacksonville, N. C. , consists of two and a half regiments of infantry, six hundred cavalry, and six pieces of artillery, the whole under the command of Col. Emory. They have attempted no forward movement as yet.
