Congressional. Washington. Dec. 31.
--Senate.--Mr. Powell, from the Crisis Committee of Then, reported that the committee had directed him to report to the Senate that they had been unable to agree.
Mr. Douglas said he desired to address the Senate on Wednesday on the subject.
On motion of Mr. Bigler, it was agreement that when the Senate adjourn it adjourn until Wednesday.
The Senate then postponed the consideration of Mr. Crittenden's resolutions until Monday next, at 12 o'clock.
Mr. Wilson introduced a resolution of inquiry as to the places of deposit and sale of the public arms.
Laid on the table.
The Kansas admission bill was postponed until Monday next.
Mr. Benjamin, of Louisiana, addresses Senate.
