Death of Dr. Thomas Nelson. We have just heard, with regret, that this eminent physician and true-hearted gentleman died at Glenburnie, (his residence,) in Louise county, on the morning of the 6th instant.--Dr. Nelson was born in Augusta county on the 11th of November, 1787, and consequently had nearly reached the ripe age of seventy-four years. After a thorough course in the best medical schools of our own country and of Europe, (where he was for a time a pupil of the celebrated Abernethy,) he settled in this city, and at once took high rank in his profession, combining, as he did, the greatest skill with an earnest and tender solicitude for his patients. In the social circle, Dr. Nelson was remarkable for great sagacity of speech and counsel — his conversation abounded with the most apposite literary and historical allusions, was enriched by an inexhaustible fund of pleasant anecdote, and sparkled with genial humor.
