From an abstract of the report of the Superintendent of Streets, returned to the Council yesterday evening, we learn that there is now wanted to complete orders for work directed to be done, the sum of $30,798.48. The Superintendent says that the entire expenditure through his office for the fiscal year, has been $59,539.93, and that the amount of drafts has been $57,079.93; that the aggregate amount of appropriations up to 1st March, 1861, for work completed, was $36,396.47, and that the cost of the said works was $34,458.06, or $1,958.39 less than the appropriations. Some of the items have exceeded the estimates, (in all $280.09,) but the above is the total result.
