Important to Militiamen. --By the Proclamation of the Governor of the 3d of June, 1861, militia companies were ordered to assemble at least once a week for inspection and drill. Under this order all persons, (except those exempt by law from all military duty,) were required to muster once a week, including, among others, persons employed upon Government work, millers, bank officers, police officers, firemen, contributing members of volunteer companies, railroad hands, overseers, &c. By the Proclamation of the 13th July, the entire militia force on the North side of James river was called into immediate service, and required to rendezvous at appointed places. By the Proclamation of the 16th July, certain persons were exempted from the call of the 13th July into actual service.
