To the Editors of the Dispatch:--You will confer a favor by inserting the following in your paper:
Headquarters, Wise Legion, office Medical Director, W. L., White Sulphur Springs, Va., Aug. 9, 1861. To Miss Julia De Lagnel, Mrs. T. L. Farish, and other Ladies of Charlottesville, Albemarle county, Va.: Dear Ladies:
It is the privilege of one who, as a private in the ranges, has known the thrill of gratitude for the kind remembrances of the ladies, to acknowledge the receipt of four boxes of medicine and stores for the sick, through Col. Farish.
As the hand unrolled a bottle of cologne, the perfumed soap, the comb and the linen, (not to speak of the happy selection of medicines,) the vision of a fond mother arose, and audibly and in succession was expressed the thought, only the delicate sensibilities of woman could suggest the comforts and need of these articles to the sick and weary soldiers.
