business had a very rapid growth. In 1882 the F. A. Kennedy Co. was incorporated under the laws of Massachusetts, to succeed F. A. Kennedy, which corporation continued to exist until the business was sold out to the New York Biscuit Co. on May 10, 1890. The New York Biscuit Co. is a corporation established under the laws of the State of Illinois, and was organized in 1889. It at first simply included five or six bakeries in New York city, but during 1890 plants were purchased in different sections of the country, and the F. A. Kennedy Co., as stated above, was bought by them on May 10, 1890. The New York Biscuit Co. has factories and branches in all the leading cities of the United States. It controls the leading brands of crackers and biscuit known in this country, including the celebrated Kennedy, Holmes & Coutts, Larrabee, Bent & Co., Pearson Pilot Bread, and in fact all of the leading standard brands of crackers and biscuit principally known east of the Mississippi River
