[for the Richmond Dispatch.]soldiers' aid society.
It was my privilege to be present at a meeting of one of these societies a few days ago, and it moved my heart with gratitude to witness the proceedings.
I allude to the society formed at Ground Squirrel Church, in Hanover county, Va. The society is formed from two congregations of different denominations — that of Ground Squirrel, Reford Baptist, and that of Forest Grove Methodist--They meet alternately at both churches every week.
They have some thirty or forty members.
Here you may see the young and aged, all engaged in devising ways and means to give aid and comfort to the soldiers.
The reports of committees were very interesting.
One reported the amount of moneys received during the week, which showed that they had not been idle or unsuccessful in the discharge of their duties.
