Hustings Court. --The Hustings Court of Magistrates commenced the March term yesterday. The following cases were disposed of: Elizabeth Howell, charged with stealing money from William Barrett, was acquitted. Albert Grooms, free negro, and John and Rebecca, slaves, were examined on the charge of conniving at the escape of slaves from their owners. Grooms was sent to the penitentiary for ten years; John was ordered to receive thirty-nine lashes, and then to be transported beyond the limits of the State. Rebecca was discharged. A negro boy, named Robert, charged with burglary, was convicted; but, in consideration of his youth, the Court only ordered him to receive thirty-nine lashes. The court will be in session again this morning.
