Trading in greenbacks. --Two citizens of Louisa county, Virginia, named Andrew Jackson and B. A. Benson, were carried before Confederate States Commissioner Sands yesterday morning to answer the charge of trading in greenbacks. The case was partially examined and then continued till this morning. It appears that a Confedered by law, to purchase greenbacks, applied for some to an Israelite on Main street; but he having none himself for sale, the applicant was referred to Jackson and Benson, who were at the moment in the act of leaving the store. The Government agent applied to them as directed; but the price asked being too high, no bargain was made. In a short time afterwards, the fact that Jackson and Benson were trying to dispose of greenbacks became known to the detectives, and they were arrested. By an act of Congress, the Secretary of War is authorized to purchase Federal green backs; but as that same body has passed a law making it a penal offence in any citizen to
