Police arrests. --The following parties were arrested yesterday and committed to the lower station-house: Mary and Harriet, slaves to James M. Talbott, and Richard, slave to Mary Raymond, charged with felony; John O. Herring, white, charged with stealing a silver watch, the property of W. G. Blanton, and Ellick, slave to P. Pennybacker, charged with stealing unfinished shoe work and calfskins, the property of J. F. Lowry & Co.
Mayor's Court. --The Mayor disposed of the following cases yesterday, in addition to a number of others not worth mentioning: John O. Herring was charged with stealing a silver watch, the property of W. G. Blanton. When arrested by officer Crone, the watch was found upon the prisoner's person. The case was continued. Mary and Harriet, slaves of James M. Talbott, and Richard, slave of Mary Redmond, were charged with felony; but the witnesses not appearing, the case was continued until Thursday. Mayor's court, Yesterday. --John Barry, charged with being a person of evil fame, name and reputation, and generally suspicious in his habits, was required to give security for his future good behavior.
