Alexander R. Boteler by the Yankee troops: "It appears that he was arresth Massachusetts Regiment, at the instance (as Colonel L. assured Mr. Boteler) of the "Union men" living on both sides of the Potomac, who haddone to the detriment of the Yankee cause in that locality."
