Examination for murder. --The case of Wm.D. Bowman, who is accused of the murder of Geo. Bailey, a trooper, by hitting him on the head with a brickbat on Monday last, will be before the Mayor this morning for examination. Sundry witnesses were called on Friday, whose evidence led to the belief that the brickbat that hit Bailey was thrown by Bowman partly at the invitation of Bailey, who was intoxicated, and had invited the accused to cast the missile at his caput. A slight misunderstandhe head with a brickbat on Monday last, will be before the Mayor this morning for examination. Sundry witnesses were called on Friday, whose evidence led to the belief that the brickbat that hit Bailey was thrown by Bowman partly at the invitation of Bailey, who was intoxicated, and had invited the accused to cast the missile at his caput. A slight misunderstanding had previously occurred between the parties relative to the health of a horse that deceased, as a trooper, had declined to ride.
