Arthur Goodwin, an old and highly respected citizen of Fredericksburg, died at that place on Monday last. He was Cashier of the Farmers' Bank at the time of his death. John H. Ernest, of Hanover county, killed a hog lately, of his own raising, only seven months old, which weighed two hundred and thirty pounds. Poor Pigs.--A facetious friend says the hogs in a certain county in Tennessee are so poor that the farmers have to their tails, to keep them from turning over while rooting. Mrs. Susan Arnold, of Campbell, gave, a few days ago, forty pairs of socks to a volunteer company from that county. Walter H.
