Knewbert, a brother soldier, at Steinline's, and who was sent before the Provost Marshal on Wednesday, having been again brought before the Mayor, was sent by him to Castle Thunder, to be punished for the theft. Wm. Conley, a middle-aged, vicious-looking man, was arraigned on the charge of cutting, stabbing, and wounding Mary J. McMiun with a knife, Wednesday night, on 2d street. Deserters --The following men were received yesterday in the military prison of the Eastern District on the charge of desertion, viz: James Conway and H. Williams, of Co. F, 5th Va. regiment; John Collins, 13th Va. battalion; William Conley, 18th Va. regiment.
