An iron-plated screw frigate. --The Pennsylvanians are talking of getting up an expedition to invade some of the Southern States. They also propose to include in it an iron-plated screw frigate, said to be now in a fair state of completion at Cramp's ship-yard, Kensington. Efforts will be made to impress her into the expedition, should it be gotten up. She is 250 feet long, 60 feet beam, and 25 feet depth of hold, with three decks, and 16 eleven-inch guns. She draws 16 feet water, which will be a serious impediment to getting her over most of the bars on the Southern coast. The crew will consist of 150 men.
