Fort Pickens to be reinforced. --The Washington correspondent of the Baltimore Sun gives the following intelligence: It is confidently rumored that orders have been sent for the landing at Fort Pickens of the two companies of artillery that were sent out in the United States ship-of-war Brooklyn, under the orders of the late Administration, for the succor of that fort. The order was suspended by President Buchanan, and is now said to have been renewed. The military status will thus be changed on the part of the United States Government. Whether the Government of the Confederate States will permit this, we are to see. It is not believed, however, that President Davis will order an assault of the fort prior to a formal demand for its surrender, and this demand he will not, it is said, make immediately.

full grown man there. T. H. W. Monroe is the man.--we may expect all to be well. Fielder Israel endorsed all that has been said of Bro. Monroe by Bro. Sewall. But will the Advocate sustain Dr. Bond and Bro. Monroe, when both are to have salaries? Dr. Bond, for his entire services since the paper commenced, has only received some five or six hundred dollars. He will have to have a salary hereafter. Now, brethren, act with caution. Don't burden your paper, and break it down. J. N. Davis said: I can vote for Bro. Monroe, but not for the continuance of the paper. If all papers, secular and religious, were discontinued for awhile, we would have peace in the Church and in the State; but if the paper is continued. I want the best man there. Samuel Register said: I believe that the paper will be more likely to be a financial success, if Bro. Monroe be put there. If you put the paper in Dr. Bond's hands alone, it will break down in six months. I endorse Dr. Bond's views
