A daring Outrage. --On Friday evening last, about 8 o'clock, a man, dressed in uniform, entered the shoe store of Mr. C. Dunham, on Broad street, near 6th, and inquired the price of a pair of cavalry boots. Mr. D. was not in the store at the time, and the visitor was informed by Mrs. D. that he could have the boots for $150. He attempted to take the boots without paying for them, when Mrs. D. jerked one of them from him. Determined to carry out his purpose of robbery, he caught her by the hair and gave her a severe kick in the side, which prevented her from giving the alarm in time to secure his arrest. When she went to the front door to call for assistance, he ran out the back door, and across a lot in rear of the store, and effected his escape.
