Gen. Forest shot. --A few days since Gen. Forrest was shot near Columbia, Tenn., by Lieut. Gould, an artillery officer, whom he had accused of cowardice. The ball struck him in the thing, but did not inflict a serious wound. Forrest stabbed his assailant severely. After Forrest's wound was dressed, his passion revived, and he again sought for Gould and shot him. Forrest's injury is slight, while that of his Lieutenant, it is feared, will prove fatal.
