Daniel Cavenaugh was required to give security in the sum of three hundred dollars to keep the peace and be of good behavior, he being charged with using insulting and abusive language towards Miss Jane Taylor and William D. Seldon. The case of Thomas Turpin, John A. Johnson, Clay Rawlings and Horace Hovan, charged with stealing eighteen hundred dollars in Confederate money, the property of Robert Rowzie, was continued. James Griffin was remanded for examination before the Hustings Court on the charge of obtaining, under false pretences, a load of straw belonging to N. A. Bowe. Peter Welsh was required to enter into bonds for his appearance on Monday to answer the charge of stealing a piece of canvass, the property of Luther N. Craddock. A negro, named Thomas, slave of Julia Handsford, charged with stealing a lot of varnish, valued at ten dollars in gold, was sent on for examination.
