Treason. --Commissioner Wm. F. Watson spent three hours yesterday in the examination of Michael Roseberry, of Prince William, charged with treason. Several witnesses testified to hearing the prisoner say that he had sent a Yankee officer to a secession neighbor's farm to get a horse, as an act of retaliation. Others deposed to his being a Union man, but to his universal kindness to Southern soldiers and families while the Yankees were in possession of that country, and to his entertaining our scouts free of charge. He was sent on for further trial before Judge Halyburton.
Judge Halyburton yesterday decided that Chambers and Cox, members of Hayward's company, owed the Confederate Government their services, and remanded them to their command.
