The Legislature. In the Senate, yesterday, the bill to amend the charter of the town of Danville was taken up and passed. A communication was received from the Governor, transmitting a letter from the President, relative to the arrest by the enemy of Messrs. Small and Harrison, members of the General Assembly. The letter expressed the hope of obtaining their release at an early day. The bill authorizing the Governor to dismiss militia officers, in certain cases, was taken up and passed. The joint resolution passed by the House, relative to the transportation of wood, by railroads, for the cities of Richmond and Petersburg was concurred in.
