Hustings Court, Saturday, May 30th, Judge Wm. H. Lyons presiding.--Philip Colgin was tried for stealing a seine from John Hitchcock, in conjunction with Elias Vanderlip. He was found guilty and sent to the penitentiary for two years and six months. James Ormsby was next tried for receiving several hundred dollars' worth of crockery ware, stolen from a house in which it had been left by the agent of Hall Neilson, dec'd. The jury several times asked instructions, seeming to be in doubt as to the verdict they should find. They finally returned a verdict of petty larceny against Ormsby, who was sentenced to jail for twelve months by Judge Lyons.
