Executive appointments.
--The Governor has re-appointed the old Directors of the Penitentiary, namely: Samuel D. Denton, John A. Belvin. L. W. Glazebrook, Robt. A. Paine, and Henry G. Cannon.
He has also appointed and commissioned Dr. Wm. A. Patterson as Surgeon of the Penitentiary and the Public Guard.
The following appointments of Bank Directors have been made, Northwestern Bank: Wheeling--Dr. M. H. Houston, Zach.
Jacobs, Lewis Steenrod.
Wellsburg — F. H. Pendleton, D. W. Carothers.

Acknowledgment.
Editors of the Dispatch: Will you permit me to acknowledge through the columns of your paper the receipt of 20 pair of woolen socks, 15 pair of drawers, 2 undershirts, and 2 blankets, from Miss T. A. Garrett, daughter of the Rev. Mr. Garrett, of this county, to be distributed among the refugee soldiers from Wheeling.
These articles are the work of her own hands, and constitute a very liberal and considerate donation for the benefit of those who are cut off from their families and friends.
