New Publications. Messrs. West & Johnston have just published the "Life of James W. Jackson, of Alexandria," who slayed the Yankee Colonel Elisworth upon his removal of the Confederate flag from the roof of the Marshall House, kept by Jackson. He was immediately afterwards killed by the Yankee soldiers who attended their Colonel when he ascended to the top of the House. He is properly styled the first martyr in the cause of independence.
