Burglary. --On Saturday night the dwelling-house of Mr. Jno. D. Harvey, on 9th street, between Clay and Leigh streets, was broken into and robbed of ball a barrel of flour, a quantity of lard, beef tongues, and sugar and coffee. Early Sunday morning officer Moore arrested a negro named Joe. the slave of B. W. Knowles, on Clay street, with a bucket containing about twenty-five pounds of lard. The negro, after being taken into custody, confessed that he and a free negro, named Joe James, had robbed Mr. Harvey's house, and that he had left all of his share of the plunder, except the lard, at the shop of one Leonora Stack, on Marshall street, near 4th street. Mr. Moore went to Mrs. Stack's and asked permission to search, which being granted, he entered the shop and there found on the counter a champagne hamper containing twenty five pounds of coffee, ten beef tongues, and some other of Mr. Harvey's property. Mrs. Stack made no objection to having her premises searched. The case

He said he had returned one pair and would return the other if he could recover them. He was discharged with a serious admonition. The case of Lewis H Allen, the boy charged with forging the name of John H Baptist to an order on the Post-Office, was continued till to day. Mary Plait was charged with beating Sarah Carrick. This was a household row, occurring between these ladies, who occupied the same house, on the southside of the basin. The Recorder thinking no great damage had been or was likely to be done by either of the parties to the other, dismissed
