A communication was received from the House of Delegates, with accompanying resolutions of respect to the memory of Judge Hopkins. On motion of Mr. Dickinson, of Prince Edward, they were read. Mr. Johnson then offered the following: Resolved, That the Senate have heard with deep regret of the death of the Hon. Geo. W. Hopkins. a member of the House of Delegates from the county of Washington, just communicated from that body. Resolved, As a mark of respect for his memory, the members and officers of the Senate will wear the usual badge of mourning for thirty days. Resolved, That as a further mark of respect for his memory, the Senate will now adjourn.
