army of the Potomac, but nothing has been said as to what Mississippians have been doing in the same cause. The reason for not calling public attention to the Mississippi hospital earlier was that it was not quite ready for the reception of patients; but now we are happy in being able to say that Mississippi will not be behind hand in caring for her sick soldiers. The institution was opened and is under the control of the Rev. Dr. C. K. Marshall, in whose hands were placed the liberal donations made by the State of Mississippi and her citizens and a simple knowledge of the fact of the institution being under his charge will satisfy every Mississippian that everything will be done for her sick that kindness, energy, and enterprise can accomplish.
