Morris, Clara 1848- Actress; born in Cleveland, O., in 1848; joined the ballet corps in the Academy of Music there in 1861, and soon became leading juvenile lady. She took the part of leading lady at Wood's Theatre, Cincinnati, in 1869; joined Daly's Fifth Avenue company in New York in 1870; and afterwards achieved great success in emotional roles, especially as Camille; Alixe; Miss Multon; Mercy Merrick in The New Magdalen; Cora in L'article 47, etc. She has contributed to the St. Nicholas; North American review; Ladies' home journal, etc.
