On the 1st of July, some of the splendid Parrott guns of the Indiana regiment were taken across the river and put iht wing in front of the village of Port Hudson. I.—One 30-pound Parrott, one 12-pound brass-rifled (removed), First Alabama regiment, Capt X—One 32 pound smooth, Lieutenant McDowell.
