Passing counterfeit money. --Frederick Maisch, a butcher in the First Market, was arraigned yesterday, charged with passing a $10 counterfeit Confederate note on Robert E. Pate. P., as soon as he found out the note was not genuine, called upon M. to redeem it, which he refused to do. Having no other recourse, he therefore resorted to the law to punish the accused for the offence.--The counterfeit in question being on the Confederate States, Maisch was turned over to Commissioner Watson for examination.
