Pickett, Albert James 1810-1858 Historian; born in Anson county, N. C., Aug. 13, 1810; settled with his parents in Autauga county, Ala., in 1818; devoted his time mainly to literature; and participated in the Creek War in 1836. He published a History of Alabama (2 volumes). He died in Montgomery, Ala., Oct. 28, 1858.
