e 25th and 26th September: Our extra of the 27th, which was hastily issued for the mail going South, giving an account of this battle, was in a measure incorrect in some of its details, but contained the report rife in Mesilla at the time. The following, however, can be relied upon, as the intelligence has been gathered from those who were present: Capt.
