A case under the Sequestration law.
We have seen a copy of the petition of Messrs. Charles C. Herndon and Richard S. Robertson, to the Provisional Congress, praying for such relief from the operation of the Sequestration law as will give them an equal chance with others to collect their dues in the Confederate States.
They present some facts which entitle them to consideration, and since it is not the purpose of the Government to oppress any loyal citizen of the South, we presume their petition will be favorably received.
