Killed by his scholars. --A dispatch to the Chicago Times says that the Rev. Dr. Allen Scott, a prominent man in the city schools of Memphis, and author of a work upon grammar, died in Memphis on the 25th ult, from the effects of shots received some weeks before, said to have been given by one of his scholars. There was not sufficient proof, however, to convict the accused.
