bill to allow reporters of the Press Association to purchase nations was taken up, and the vote being reconsidered, the bill was rejected. The bill to regulate the pay of a General assigned to duty at the seat of Government, under the provisions of the act approved March 25, 1862. was taken up. Mr. Orr, of S. C., addressed the Senate at length in opposition to the bill, and especially in opposition to Gen. Bragg, the present incumbent of the office of Commanding General. Messrs.
