The New York Chamber of Commerce, at their last regular meeting, received a report from the committee appointed to consider a communication from the merchants of Bahia relative to the Florida affair, and requesting that body to "suspend any act that might tend to reward the captors (captures) until a committee be appointed to inv of their disregard of American interests and their evident sympathy with the rebellion. The report concludes quite saucily, thus: "What the merchants of Bahia deplore as a detriment to our commerce, the merchants of New York hall as a boon; and your committee recommend that the thanks of this Chamber be tendered to Captahould take no further notice of the factors of British pirates.--[Applause.] Other gentlemen thought a reply was due, but the Chamber decided not to send copies to Bahia.
