Buenos Ayres.
--We have advices from Buenos Ayres to the 22d of September. The terrific storm which visited that place on the 29th and 30th of August had very little effect on the commerce of the port, as the goods and vessels lost were mostly insured in Europe.
The extent of the damage to American shipping was stated in our former advices.
The amount of goods in bond in the city was so great as to necessitate the renting of store-houses by Government, and cargoes were often sold at a loss.
We receive also later intelligence from Montevideo.
The debts of the country, amounting to one hundred millions of settled claims, had been adjusted at ninety-five per cent, discount.
The tone of the Montevideo press is represented to be very bitter towards Brazil, with which country an open rupture was probable.
The Brazilian Minister had retired and gone home.
