The ladies of Augusta county. Churchville, August 23, 1861. Messrs. Editors: --I have observed notices of high commendation, (through the papers of your city and elsewhere,) of the ladies of almost every section of the State, who have furnished provisions, made clothing, &c., for our soldiers. This is right and proper; too much cannot be said in favor of our patriotic county women, who night and day are laboring for the comfort of our soldiery who are so heroically spending their lives in the cause of civil and religious liberty. The ladies of Churchville and vicinity have been overlooked. Although our village is small the ladies in this vicinity have made, free of charge, 240 pairs pants; 240 roundabouts; 320 shirts; 20 tents, and seven wagon-loads of provisions; also, a large lot of clothing and various other articles for the sick and wounded soldiers.
