Whitmore, William Henry 1836-
Genealogist; born in Dorchester, Mass., Sept. 6, 1836; received a public school education, and engaged in business, devoting his spare time to historical research.
His publications include The American Genealogist; Massachusetts Civil list, 1636-1774; Copp's Hill epitaphs; History of the old State House, etc. He also prepared the Laws of adoption; Revision of the City Ordinances (with Henry W. Putnam) ; Report of the State seal, etc.
