bago, Mobile Bay, Aug. 6, 1864. To Rear-Admiral D. G. Farragut, Commanding W. G. B. Squadron: sir: I have the honor to report that, according to instructions, this vessel yesterday, at half-past 5 A. M. got under way from her anchorage near Sand Island, and proceeded up the bay for the purpose of attacking the enemy.
