mishes. The services of the men and non-commissioned officers were arduous, indeed, owing to the severity of the cold in that mountainous country. In 1862 it served in Major George Jackson's squadron, under General R. E. Lee, at Valley Mountain, in West Virginia. From this place the company went to Churchville, Augusta county, Va.
