Nurses not Wanted. --Bishop Elliot, of Georgia, telegraphed to Mr. Memminger on the 23d inst., to know if nurses were needed and received in reply--"Nurses are not wanted. "
Prepare for the winter. We have lately copied some valuable suggestions from a Nashville paper, urging the importance of preparing a timely and abundant supply of winter clothing for our soldiers. The season is not far distant when it will be needed. A correspondent suggests that it is equally important and more immediately necessary to supply our soldiers with tents. Numbers of them are said to be destitute of all shelter, and sleep on the low ground, with nothing but the canopy of Heaven to cover them. This crying evil ought at once to be remedied. The cotton factors of Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia, can manufacture an abundant supply of the best material for tents, and it ought to be done as soon as possible.
