We learn from reliable parties that the Southern Pacific Railroad is now graded from Jonesville to the Louisiana line, at the terminus of the Vicksburg, Shreveport, and Texas Railroad.
The Southern Pacific Company are very anxious to make a connection with us, and many of the Company are willing to take up the track to the lake and loan it to us to lay our track through this parish.
We feel confident that an arrangement could be made which would prove eventually beneficial to both roads.
