A violent attack was made by the medical profession of New York upon D. T. Galliard Thomas, (who, it will be remembered, took the first honor in 1852 in the Medical College of this city.) because he was supposed to entrain feelings of warm sympathy with to certain false reports, which touched his character as a gentleman These facts I have learned from a resident in New York, a Southerner who is acquainted with Dr. Thomas, and with the circumstances of the case.
