te Insurance Company, which was read the first time and ordered to be read the third time. The House bill to authorize a connection between the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad and the Richmond and Petersburg Railroad in Richmond, and between the Richmond and Petersburg Railroad in Petersburg, was taken up on motion of Mr. Robertson, and the question being on the third reading of the bill, on motion of Mr. Collier, it was laid upon the table, but on the further motion of Mr. Thompson, it was made the order of the day for Wednesday next. Mr. Armstrong, moved to take up a joint resolution in regard to the appointment of committee of three on the part of the Senate, to meet a committee of five of the House to take into consideration the expediency of amending the laws in relation to the connections of the several railroads, and the transportation of freight in this State.
