From the Rapidan. Orange, C. H., Jan. 15. --The following seems to be the true version of Mooby's affair, near Harper's Ferry. He did not attack the garrison at Harper's Ferry, but the Yankee camp, on the Loudoun heights, one mile and a half from Harper's Ferry, occupied by the first Maryland battalion of cavalry, under Major Cole, consisting of one hundred and fifty men. The attack was made on Sunday morning before daylight. The enemy's camp was completely surprised, and thrown into considerable confusion. Owing to the proximity of the enemy's infantry forces, Mosby was compelled to act hurriedly. Six prisoners and 40 horses were captured. The enemy's loss in killed and wounded not ascertained. Mosby's loss is given at fifteen--among them Lieut. Smith is reported killed, and Lieut. Turner mortally wounded. A part of Sedgwick's (8th) corps has gone to the Valley.
